Pleiades Sandy Bridge Nodes Offline Following Sept. 11 Dedicated Time

09 Sep, 2024

As part of our efforts to continually expand capacity to meet the increasing needs of our users, we will need to take the Pleiades Sandy Bridge nodes offline following the scheduled downtime on Wednesday, September 11. This work is to accommodate the addition of a significant GPGPU expansion and minimize user impact. Sandy Bridge nodes will be brought back after the new GPGPU system is released to users.

Jobs submitted to the "san" model type prior to the dedicated time will need to finish before 10:00 a.m .on September 11. Any new submissions to the "san" model type will not run after systems come back up. We encourage you to work with our User Services staff to migrate your jobs to use other model types before the dedicated time begins to avoid any disruptions to your work.

To minimize disruption to your workflow, please check that your job submission scripts are not calling for Sandy Bridge nodes. If you require assistance optimizing your code for one of the other hardware types, please submit a ticket to support@nas.nasa.gov.
