The default mpi-hpe/mpt module was updated on December 19, 2024, to load version mpi-hpe/mpt.2.30. (Previously, the default module loaded mpi-hpe/mpt.2.28_25Apr23_rhel87.)

For most applications, this change should be transparent and it should not be necessary to recompile your applications.

However, if your applications or scripts are hardcoded to use a specific version of MPT, please note that versions of HPE MPT older than 2.29 may no longer work after December 26, 2024. On that date, we will begin upgrading the operating system and InfiniBand firmware (MOFED) on the compute nodes. Once they are upgraded to MOFED 23.10, some of the nodes will require the newer MPT version 2.30. Therefore, if you have hardcoded a specific HPE MPT version into your applications or scripts, change them to use mpi-hpe/mpt.2.30 or the default module, mpi-hpe/mpt.
