Aitken's Milan Nodes Are Now Available

17 Jun, 2024

Aitken's 512 new Milan nodes are now available for production use. Each Milan node has two Milan CPU processors. You can submit PBS jobs to the new nodes by accessing an Aitken-Milan front end (AFE), and specifying the following model type and queue name in your PBS job request.

Note: You can submit a PBS batch job to the Milan nodes using either an AFE or a Pleiades front end (PFE). However, for interactive jobs you must use an AFE. The AFEs are currently used only for Aitken's Milan nodes.

  • Aitken-Milan front ends: afe01 and afe02
  • Model type: mil_ait
  • Queue names: low, normal, long, debug, or devel

For more information about using the Milan nodes, see the following articles in the HECC Knowledge Base:

We encourage your feedback on providing performance results and any questions or issues you have when using these nodes. Please send an email to support@nas.nasa.gov with any feedback or questions.
