NAS Systems Status for August 4

04 Aug, 2014

During the systems downtime over the weekend of August 2-3, NAS facilities personnel cleaned out the cooling tower reservoir and the chillers, in preparation for re-installing the cooling tower water pumps.

Currently, the repaired pumps are scheduled to be installed by Friday, August 8. No additional downtime will be needed to install the pumps or to get the chillers operating again. Assuming that is no slippage in this schedule, the computer systems will be returned to full capacity soon thereafter.

As of today, August 4, the status of NAS resources is as follows:

Pleiades Half capacity
Westmere Half
Westmere GPU  Full
Sandy Bridge Half
Ivy Bridge Half
Endeavour Full capacity
Merope Full capacity
Maia Down
Mira Down
Hyperwall Down
Filesystems Up
Archive Up

We continue to do everything possible to get computer operations back to normal as soon as possible. If you have concerns about job processing, please contact the NAS Control Room at (800) 331-8737, (650) 604-4444, or support@nas.nasa.gov, or contact Cathy Schulbach at 650-604-3180 or catherine.h.schulbach@nasa.gov.
