Pleiades Upgrade Completed

04 Apr, 2014

HECC engineers have now completed the multi-phase upgrade to Pleiades that began on January 9th. The expansion added 29 new Ivy Bridge racks, increasing the system's computational capability by 24.3%. Theoretical peak performance has increased from 2.88 to 3.59 petaflops.

To make room for the expansion, all of the system's 20 Nehalem racks and 12 of the Westmere racks were removed. Six of the Nehalem racks and all 12 Westmere racks will be reconfigured and integrated into the Merope supercomputer.

See Pleiades Configuration Details for more information.
