Update: NAS System Status for July 18

18 Jul, 2014

We completed our inspection of the cooling tower water pumps, and determined that they can be repaired. The repairs will take several weeks. Pleiades will continue to run at reduced capacity until the repairs are complete and the pumps are returned to service. We are considering the possibility of installing temporary cooling in the event of unforeseen delays in repairing and installing the pumps.

Merope has been returned to service at full capacity.  In addition, we are in the process of upgrading Merope by replacing the current Harpertown nodes with Westmere and Nehalem nodes.  The upgraded system should also be available in a few weeks.

As of today, July 18, the current status of NAS resources is as follows:

Pleiades Half capacity
Westmere Half
Westmere GPU  Full
Sandy Bridge Half
Ivy Bridge Half
Endeavour Full capacity
Merope Full capacity
Maia Down
Mira Down
Hyperwall Down
Filesystems Up
Archive Up
