Singularity Now Available on NAS Systems

15 May, 2020

The ability to build and run Singularity container images is now available on NAS systems. Developed by Sylabs Inc., Singularity, provides a Docker-like software container environment for shared HPC environments.

Singularity allows you to create and have full control of an environment without having to ask NAS system administrators to install anything for you. You can package your entire scientific workflow, software, and libraries, and even data into a Singularity container image and use it to run on any platforms where Singularity is installed.

Singularity is installed on Pleiades with a few NAS-provided base images to enable safe use of elevated privilege within a Singularity container.

For more information, see the Singularity section in the Knowledge Base.
