Pleiades Achieves Sustained Petaflop/s Rate After Expansion

20 Jun, 2011

During last week's dedicated time to expand Pleaides, the system attained a sustained performance rate of 1.09 petaflop/s on the LINPACK benchmark run. With this achievement, Pleiades climbed to 7th place on the TOP500 list released earlier today.

During the benchmark run, Pleiades delivered nearly 83%  of the theoretical peak of 1.32 petaflops—which translates to very efficient use of your time on the system.

Pleiades overall configuration now includes:

  • 11,648 nodes
  • 111,104 cores
  • 185 terabytes total memory
