New Remote Network Diagnostic Tools Available

20 Jun, 2011

NAS now offers a collection of web-based network diagnostics tools that allows remote users to troubleshoot and identify any configuration or local network issues.

The Network Path and Application Diagnosis (NPAD) and Network Diagnostic Tester (NDT) tools perform analyses on users' connections, and send reports to users, with a copy to NAS. Our network experts will then work with directly with users having connectivity issues.

Some features of these new tools include:

  • Provide maximum throughput to NAS from users' remote sites
  • Identify any packet loss or congestion along the path
  • Identify configuration issues such as buffer sizes and TCP windowing settings
  • Determine local connectivity problems with bad cabling

The service also provides a powerful mechanism for troubleshooting problems in cases where network engineers do not have access to remote users' systems-reducing the time to isolate network issues between sites.
