Migration to NASA-Wide SecurID Authentication System

20 Jun, 2011

UPDATE: On Monday, June 20, 2011, NAS began the transition from using its current local RSA SecurID servers to using the Agency's RSA SecurID servers, as part of a mandated Two-Factor Token Infrastructure (TFTI) project to perform SecurID authentication throughout the Agency.

This transition should be seamless, and no action is required on your part.

TO: All NAS Users

WHAT: Update - Migration to NASA-Wide SecurID Authentication System

WHEN: June 20-22, 2011

IMPACT TO USERS:

  • On each login attempt using SecurID, the TFTI system will verify that you have an enabled Agency User ID (AUID). If your AUID gets disabled for any reason, then the TFTI server will deny you access until your AUID is re-enabled. This is a change from the current process. If you need to get your AUID re-enabled, please contact the NAS Control Room (see below).
  • If you have only one RSA SecurID token, that token will continue to be valid after the migration.
  • If you have multiple RSA SecurID tokens, and you are not a civil servant or contractor working in the NAS Division, only your non-NAS token will be valid after the migration.
  • If you are a NAS civil servant or contractor working in the NAS Division, and you have multiple RSA SecurID tokens that were issued by NAS, only the token that is tied to an AUID will be valid following the migration.
  • The login process will remain the same, except for the changes mentioned above.
