July 6: Suspend/Resume for All NAS Compute Systems, Dedicated Time for Lou

29 Jun, 2022

All NAS computing systems and the Lou mass storage system will be unavailable on Wednesday, July 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) to facilitate urgent system patching.

The following services will be affected:

  • Aitken, Pleiades, Electra, and Endeavour will not be available during this period. Jobs cannot be submitted, and there will be no access to the Lustre, NFS, or BeeGFS filesystems.
  • All jobs running when the dedicated time begins will be suspended for the duration and resumed when patching is complete. Interactive PBS jobs (jobs created with "qsub -I") submitted from front ends will be killed when those front ends are rebooted for their patching.
  • Pleiades front ends (PFEs) and Lou front ends (LFEs) will be unavailable during this period.

If you have any questions, please contact the NAS Control Room at (800) 331-8737, (650) 604-4444, or by email at        support@nas.nasa.gov.
