On March 31, the Endeavour1 and Endeavour2 systems will be replaced with new systems. An early user testing period for the replacement begins now.

The original UV2000 Endeavour1 and Endeavour2 systems are being replaced with two HPE Superdome Flex systems, Endeavour3 and Endeavour4. Each of the new systems has 868 Cascade Lake cores available through PBS, and six terabytes (TB) of memory. Endeavour3 is available for testing immediately. Endeavour4 is not yet available for user testing. A follow-up email will be sent when it is available.

We encourage you to start the transition by submitting jobs to Endeavour3 using the testing@pbspl4 queue. During the transition period, Endeavour3 users will not be charged for their PBS jobs. On March 31, the old Endeavour systems will be powered off, and charging for jobs on Endeavour3 and Endeavour4 will begin.

IMPORTANT: Unlike the old Endeavour systems, you must specify the amount of memory your job needs in the PBS resource request for Endeavour3 and Endeavour4 jobs. Otherwise, your job will be allocated only 32 GB by default.
