All NAS Systems Unavailable on Feb. 7

30 Jan, 2023

There will be a suspend/resume for Aitken, Electra, and Endeavour, and dedicated time for Pleiades, on Tuesday, February 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) to facilitate system patching and facilities power work.

The following services will be affected:

  • Pleiades, Electra, Aitken, and Endeavour will not be available during this period, jobs cannot be submitted, and there will be no access to the Lustre or NFS filesystems.
  • Jobs on Aitken, Electra, and Endeavour will be suspended at the beginning of the period and will be resumed at the conclusion of the period. Interactive PBS jobs (jobs created with qsub -I) submitted from the front ends will be killed when the front ends are rebooted for their patching.
  • Pleiades will be placed in dedicated time, and all Pleiades jobs will be drained prior to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7.
  • Pleiades front ends (PFEs), Lou front ends (LFEs), and the NAS Data Portal will be unavailable during this period.

For helpful information about completing jobs on Aitken in advance of dedicated time, see the following Knowledge Base article: Running Jobs Before Dedicated Time.
