Requests for GPU Computing Time for FY24 Due Aug. 25

31 Jul, 2023

For Fiscal Year 2024, which begins October 1, NAS projects will require a separate allocation to use GPU resources.
Projects that require both CPU and GPU resources can use both but will require a separate request for each.

All NASA mission directorates are currently gathering requests for High-End Computing (HEC) time on resources at the NASA Advanced Supercomputing (NAS) facility for FY24.

  • Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD)
  • Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate (ESDMD)
  • NASA Engineering and Safety Center (NESC)
  • Science Mission Directorate (SMD)
  • Space Operations Mission Directorate (SOMD)
  • Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD)

ARMD, ESDMD, NESC, SMD, SOMD, and STMD managers will consider eligible requests submitted via the HEC Request Management System (RMS) to the rolling submission calls by August 25 for allocation October 1, 2023. SMD requests submitted by this date will be allocated off-cycle prior to October 31.

For work that is supported by NASA outside of ARMD, ESDMD, NESC, STMD, SOMD, and SMD, you may renew your project(s) and apply for time under the MISC (miscellaneous) category. The MISC category does not have a share of HEC resources, so requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis with no guarantee of an award of computer time.

To Request GPU Resources

Log in to https://request.hec.nasa.gov/ and create a new request. If you have an existing project you would like to link, check the box at the top of the form and enter your GID.

Please request only what you can reasonably use. You may request adjustments to your allocation through RMS any time.

For questions on the allocation process or your specific project, please contact support@hec.nasa.gov.
