During this dedicated time, Lou1 was merged with Lou2, and the old Lou1 was decommissioned. Lou1 users now log into the Lou front ends (LFEs).
Please note the following:
- You can still log into "lou1" (or "lou" or "lfe"), and your session will automatically load-balance across the four LFEs, lfe[1-4].
- There will be no change to your files. You should still access them at /u/your_username or ~/your_username.
- The Pleiades /nobackup filesystems are mounted on the LFE systems, enabling direct disk-to-disk copying and creation/extraction of tar files.
- There will be no effect on Pleiades jobs unless they recall data or send data to Lou1 as part of the job.
- Any scripts that use bbftp or bbscp to move data to Lou1 must be changed to refer to one of the following hostnames:
- lfe1.nas.nasa.gov
- lfe2.nas.nasa.gov
- lfe3.nas.nasa.gov
- lfe4.nas.nasa.gov
- If you are at a remote site with a firewall that currently allows access from Lou1, you may need to add a new IP address.
For more information, see The Lou Mass Storage System.
