The total computing power of Pleiades will be significantly increased this summer with the addition of 3312 Ivy Bridge nodes. To make way for the new addition, the Pleiades Harpertown nodes will be removed; and some outages will be required.

Tentative schedule for the upgrades:

• July 15: System-wide outage to remove half (2048) of the Harpertown nodes to make room for the first batch of Ivy Bridge nodes.
• August 5: Initial 1152 Ivy Bridge nodes become available to users. These have computing power approximately equivalent to all the 4096 nodes of Harpertowns being removed.
• Later that week, there will be another outage to remove the remaining 2048 Harpertown nodes.
• Aug 19: Additional 1152 Ivy Bridge nodes become available.
• Aug 26: Final 1008 Ivy Bridge nodes come online.
