Suspend/Resume, Dedicated Time on September 24

12 Sep, 2025

There will be a suspend/resume for Pleiades, Electra, Endeavour, Cabeus, and Lou systems, and dedicated time Aitken nodes on Wednesday, September 24, from 5:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) to facilitate system patching.

The following services will be affected:

  • Pleiades, Electra, Cabeus, and Endeavour will not be available during this period, jobs cannot be submitted, and there will be no access to the Lustre or NFS filesystems.
  • All front ends (PFEs, AFEs, CFEs, CHFEs, and LFEs) will be unavailable during the downtime.
  • Jobs running on Pleiades, Electra, Cabeus, and Endeavour nodes will be suspended at the beginning of the downtime and will be resumed when the systems return. There should be no other impact to these jobs.
  • Aitken will be in dedicated time; jobs will be drained from these nodes prior to 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24. Any jobs that do not complete ahead of the dedicated time will be killed.

See Running Jobs Before Dedicated Time in the Knowledge Base to learn how to manage your jobs to run before dedicated time.
