January 7: Downtime for All Systems for Patching

30 Dec, 2025

All compute systems at NAS will be unavailable Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 5:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) to facilitate system patching. The following systems will be affected:

  • Jobs on Aitken, Electra, Endeavour, Lou, and Cabeus A100 and V100 nodes will be suspended at the beginning of the downtime and will be resumed at the conclusion of the period. There should be no other impact to these jobs.
  • Cabeus Grace-Hopper and Athena nodes will go into dedicated time. Jobs running on these nodes will be ended at the beginning of the downtime.
  • All front ends, including the AFEs, PFEs, LFEs, etc., will be unavailable during this period.
  • Lustre and NFS filesystems will be unavailable until the end of the downtime.

See Running Jobs Before Dedicated Time in the Knowledge Base to learn how to manage your jobs to run before dedicated time.
