Remote Access to NAS Gets Easier Starting August 8th

30 Jul, 2012

Remote access to the NAS environment will soon be easier, as users will be able to access any bastion instead of having to remember which bastion goes to which resource. On Monday, August 8, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. PT, we will consolidate sfe1, sfe2, sfe3, sfe-tops, bouncer, and bruiser into sfe1, sfe2, sfe3, and sfe4.

After this change, you can use the SSH protocol to externally access any NAS resource through sfe1, sfe2, sfe3, or sfe4. The hostname bouncer will be aliased to sfe3, and the hostnames bruiser and sfe-tops will be aliased to sfe4.

Please update your scripts or configuration files with the new hostnames.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the NAS Control Room at (800) 331-8737, (650) 604-4444, or support@nas.nasa.gov.
