New NVIDIA V100 Nodes Available

21 Jun, 2019

16 new NVIDIA V100 GPU nodes will be open to all NAS users starting June 21, 2019, including 14 nodes with four V100 cards and Skylake sockets, and two nodes with eight V100 cards and Skylake sockets. This new hardware is accessible by specifying the model type sky_gpu and queue name v100. Use the following examples in your PBS script or qsub command line:

  • Nodes with 2 Skylake sockets and 4 V100 cards:
    #PBS -l select=xx:ncpus=yy:model=sky_gpu
    #PBS -q v100
  • Nodes with 2 Skylake sockets and 8 V100 cards:
    #PBS -l select=xx:ncpus=yy:model=sky_gpu:naccelerators=8
    #PBS -q v100

For more information on their hardware configuration and current v100 queue limit, see Using GPU Nodes.

We encourage your feedback on providing performance results and any questions or issues you have when using these nodes. Please send an email to our support team at support@nas.nasa.gov with any feedback or questions you have about utilizing the new hardware.
