Abstract

An autonomous process for creating surrogate aerodynamic models for flight-dynamics analysis is developed. Provided with only the vehicle’s geometry and operating envelope, the process automatically selects multifidelity analysis conditions for inviscid and viscous aerodynamic analysis, creates meshes from the vehicle geometry, and ensures accuracy of computational solutions using state-of-the-art mesh-adaptation methods. The autonomous process serves to reduce human labor and accelerate vehicle development.
