SimplifyHPC: A Framework to Simplify HPC Codes Deployment

Speaker: Ananta Tiwari, EP Analytics

Seminar Slide Deck (PDF-1.6MB)

Abstract

SimplifyHPC is a desktop application that brings together all the tools necessary for managing complex High-Performance Computing (HPC) simulations – input creation, data transfer, visualization, job submission, and job monitoring. SimplifyHPC automates all the tasks around running simulations on on-premises and cloud-based HPC resources; for cloud-based executions, SimplifyHPC automates resource management and data transfer. In this talk, Dr. Tiwari will describe the framework and showcase its current capabilities with GEOS-Chem as a target application. GEOS-Chem is an atmospheric chemistry code that is of high importance to NASA. The talk will demonstrate how SimplifyHPC can make managing this complex code seamless both on on-premises and on AWS clusters, all from a desktop application.

EP Analytics is developing SimplifyHPC under the support for a NASA SBIR Phase I award. A short 70-second video that describes the framework can be found on YouTube. EP Analytics is looking forward to getting feature requests and application portfolio extension for Phase II development.
