Abstract

The ability to set up parametric design changes on CAE models is a key enabler for a quick turnaround in the optimization process. It avoids the expensive cycle time in getting the requested design changes from the design engineers for evaluation of the new designs. A parametric CAE model is the backbone of the optimization process. This approach would only be worthwhile if it meets the following conditions. The parametric model setup process must:

  • Be easy and quick to setup
  • Cover shape design variables using morphing techniques
  • Cover model definition design variables
  • Be able to be executed in an automated batch process
  • Be robust in producing error free designs
  • Support additional process actions through scripting
  • Satisfy strict quality criteria that will allow for an accurate and robust simulation

In this webinar, we will demonstrate morphing and optimization functionalities of the pre-processor ANSA and post-processor META as applied to typical aerospace models. We will address topics like:

  • Parametric shape morphing for FE and geometry structures/surfaces using morph boxes
  • Parametric modifications of features like Beads, Stamps, and Openings
  • Setting up optimization task for batch DOE and Optimization runs
  • Setting up topology optimization
  • Advanced morphing and concept design tools
