AMD is leading the way into the Exascale era through its EPYC CPUs and Instinct GPU. In this presentation we will briefly review the direction of travel AMD is taking for HPC; and then look in more detail at the third and current generation EPYC CPU, Milan, discussing its architecture and associated application characterization. Some discussion on the AMD Software Development Environment for the EPYC CPUs will also be included.
