CAE-based Robust Design Optimization

Abstract

Dynardo is a German software and consulting company which is introducing CAE-based optimization, CAE-based stochastic analysis and CAE-based RDO in different industries since 14 years (www.dynardo.de). The seminar will cover methodology and software solutions addressing CAE-based Robust Design Optimization in virtual product development including large dimensions of optimization parameters, large dimensions of scattering variables and uncertainties, non-linear CAE-processes having non-linear and noisy design responses. The challenges, no goes and must’s will be discussed at industrial applications and the whole workflow will be illustrated at seal component of an hydraulic system.

Biography

Will earned his Ph.D. in Finite Element Methods based structural mechanic from Bauhaus University Weimar in 1998. He is a founding partner and general manager of the firm DYNARDO GmbH. Previously, he worked as a project manager in structural mechanics and software development for CAD-FEM GmbH. His expertise are in research, software development, consulting and teaching for numerical methods for Optimization and Stochastic Analysis with a strong focus on software development and implementation of optimization and reliability analysis in virtual product development.
