The /nobackupp27 filesystem is now available. However, there is the possibility that some users may experience MPT startup failures if the system is too slow to mount on some nodes. For troubleshooting information, see MPT Startup Failures and Workarounds.

Due to issues with the facility's chillers that have now been resolved, we need to extend the downtime for all NAS systems. We're currently working on bringing systems back online and we will provide another update tomorrow (Thursday, January 30) when more information is available.

Original Notification (January 3)

The annual facility maintenance shutdown will take place starting at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22 through 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29 (Pacific Time). During this period, all NAS systems will be unavailable. This includes Pleiades, Aitken, Cabeus, Electra, Endeavour, the Lou mass storage system, network connections, and all filesystems. Any jobs that are projected to end after 6:00 a.m. on January 22 will be automatically rejected by the PBS scheduler. See the Running Jobs Before Dedicated Time article to learn how to manage your jobs to run before dedicated time.

We recommend that you back up any data on the /nobackup filesystems to Lou prior to this scheduled maintenance, as there is a minor risk that data could be lost when these filesystems are powered down. 

Please note that the facility will not have power January 25-26, so communication with NAS Support will not be available during this time.
