All NAS computing systems and the Lou mass storage system will be unavailable on Thursday, January 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) to facilitate system patching.

Note: Because an agency security patch was released earlier than anticipated, this date has been changed from the originally scheduled date of January 10.

The following services will be affected:

• Aitken, Pleiades, Electra, and Endeavour will not be available during this period. Jobs cannot be submitted, and there will be no access to the Lustre, NFS, or BeeGFS filesystems.
• All jobs running when the dedicated time begins will be suspended for the duration and resumed when patching is complete. Interactive PBS jobs (jobs created with "qsub -I") submitted from the front ends will be killed when the front ends are rebooted for their patching.
• Pleiades front ends (PFEs) and Lou front ends (LFEs) will be unavailable during this period.
• The NAS Data Portal will be unavailable during this period.
