Please read the following carefully, as instructions are dependent on your supporting organization.
Program managers from NASA's Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD, Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate (HEOMD), Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD), and the NASA Engineering and Safety Center (NESC) will select from computer time requests submitted to the eBooks online system by July 20, 2020 for 12-month allocation awards beginning October 1.
Any current projects set to expire on September 30 must have a request in e-Books by July 20 to be considered for renewal.
Principal Investigators supported by NASA's Science Mission Directorate (SMD) who have an existing computing allocation and are funded through Fiscal Year 2021 (FY21) should log into the Request Management System (RMS) and verify that the time requested for FY21 is accurate. Any changes to FY21 requests for SMD projects should be made prior to July 20 to be considered for October 1 allocations. If no change is needed, no action is required.
Principal Investigators with work supported by NASA outside of the four mission directorates and NESC may renew their projects and apply for time under the MISC (miscellaneous) category. This category does not have a share of High End Computing (HEC) resources, so requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis with no guarantee of an award of computer time.
If you are currently supported to perform research for NASA, you can request specific computer time allocations on HEC Program resources at the NASA Advanced Supercomputing (NAS) facility at Ames Research Center. SMD investigators supported by NASA may also request computer time on resources at the NASA Center for Climate Simulation (NCCS) located at Goddard Space Flight Center.
You can browse a summary of all available HEC resources, including computing systems, storage, and support services.
To submit your request, follow the instructions on the e-Books website, which is used for managing computer allocations on the agency's HEC resources.
The e-Books website provides specific information for submitting requests. If you need additional assistance to complete your request, please send email to support@nas.nasa.gov.
