Reminder: Required IT Security Training Deadline is July 29th

If you have not yet done so, please complete the annual IT Security Training via SATERN (System for Administration, Training, and Educational Resources at NASA), which is a requirement for having a NAS account.

Related to this training, NAS is now using the agency's account management and user authentication systems, which means that your NAS accounts will automatically be disabled if they are not kept current in the Agency account management system. Having up-to-date IT Security training is one of the requirements for keeping an active account.

In order to keep your NAS account active, please complete this training no later than July 29, 2011.

Before accessing the training, you will need to complete the "First Time SATERN User" steps listed on the SATERN home page.

You will also need to know your Agency User ID (AUID), which is the same as your NAS username or login name.

TIPS

  1. Once you have activated your SATERN account (SATERN Step 3), you need  to wait 24 hours before accessing the training module. This is to allow time for your SATERN account to be activated.
  2. Before doing the training, make sure to enable "pop-ups" and restart your browser.
  3. After you log in, if "FY 2011 Annual Information Security Training" is not listed on your learning plan when you log in to SATERN, you can search for it using the search capability near the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

Or, from the same screen, click on the "Catalog," menu item, then on "IT Security" in the Subject Area Menu, and finally, scroll down and find "FY 2011 Annual Information Security Training."

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the NAS Control Room staff at (800) 331-8737, (650) 604-4444, support@nas.nasa.gov.
