On November 20th, 2013, HECC merged the Lou1 and Lou2 mass storage systems into a single system, now known as Lou.
All Lou1 and Lou2 users now have access to the unified system, which is an SGI parallel DMF cluster with high-availability clustering software, four 32-processor front-end systems, 64 GB of memory, and 3.1 petabytes of locally attached SATA RAID storage. All users can now access the ten Lou Data Analysis Nodes (LDAN), which HECC deployed earlier this year to provide dedicated PBS resources for pre- and post-processing tasks.
In addition, both Lou1 and Lou2 users can now easily transfer files between Lou and the Pleiades Lustre (/nobackup) filesystems, which are mounted on the four Lou front end systems (LFEs).
