Wrapping Legacy Scientific Applications
Applications of Distributed Object Technology for Aerospace Computations
A distributed object is a reusable, self-contained piece of software that
cooperates with objects in a plug-and-play fashion. Many scientific applications
in aerodynamics and solid mechanics are written in Fortran. Refitting these
legacy Fortran codes with distributed objects can increase the code reusability.
At the Glenn Research Center, we are developing efficient technologies and
tools to integrate aerospace applications into a distributed object framework.
