INS2D
The INS2D code solves the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in two-dimensional generalized coordinates for both steady-state and time varying flow. The equations are formulated into a hyperbolic set of PDE using the method of artificial compressibility. The convective terms are differenced using an upwind biased flux-difference splitting. The equations are solved using an implicit line-relaxation scheme. The code is written for single or multiple-zone calculations. It can utilize either pointwise continious zonal interfaces, or random overlapped zonal interfaces if a PEGSUS interpolation database is supplied. The flow solver contains pre-coded boundary conditions for slip and noslip walls, symmetry planes, inflow and outflow boundaries, and far-field boundaries.

The INS2D code is written in Fortran 77, with some extensions and several routines which are written in C. The source code comes ready to compile and run on either a Cray computer or a Silicon Graphics workstation.

INS3D
The INS3D code solves the incompressible Naiver-Stokes equations in three-dimensional generalized coordinates for both steady-state and time varying flow. The equations are formulated into a hyperbolic set of PDE using the method of artificial compressibility. The convective terms are differenced using an upwind biased flux-difference splitting. The equations are solved using an implicit line-relaxation scheme. The code is written for single or multiple-zone calculations. It can utilize either point wise continuous zonal interfaces, or random overlapped zonal interfaces if a PEGSUS interpolation database is supplied. The flow solver contains pre-coded boundary conditions for slip and noslip walls, symmetry planes, inflow and outflow boundaries, and far-field boundaries. The INS3D code is written in Fortran 77, with some extensions and several routines, which are written in C. The source code comes ready to compile and run on either a Cray computer or a Silicon Graphics workstation.

PDFVis
PDFVis is a software program for visualizing uncertainty, which can be represented by a probability density function (PDF) located at each grid cell in a spatial domain. A full description of uncertainty at each grid cell is represented using a probability distribution. The software allows scientists to visualize the uncertainty in the given spatial domain by creating maps of first-, second-, and third-order statistics summarizing the distributions.

PDFVis also provides an interactive probe that allows users to investigate the probability distribution at any grid cell or from a user-selectable profile in the spatial domain. Furthermore, the software provides shape descriptions of the probability distribution by automatically computing and displaying the modality (the number of peaks) in the probability distributions. PDFVis also displays shaded surfaces of the probability distributions so that the shapes of the distributions are much easier to comprehend.

Features and Capabilities:
  • Displays several first-, second-, and third-order statistics of probability density functions (PDFs) simultaneously in one image, using various graphics display techniques.
  • Provides an interactive probe that conveys various forms of density estimates (for example, histogram, kernel density estimator) of the PDF at the grid cell associated with the current probe position.
  • Displays the density estimates of the distribution associated with the current probe position.
  • Displays shaded surfaces of PDFs from a user-selectable profile (row or column) to the shapes of the PDFs can be visualized, and color maps the surfaces according to a user-selectable scalar variable.
  • Displays the modality of the PDFs at each grid cell and the locality of the peaks in each grid cell.
  • Allows scientists to query the modality of the PDF based on a user-specified range and criteria.
  • Provides simple user command keys for easy interactivity.

Noshell is a replacement shell to track access to disabled accounts. When an account is disabled, the shell field is changed to noshell. When someone accesses a disabled account (either login, rlogin, telnet, rsh, rcp or ftp) a message will be sent to a designated account. This message reports on the remote host attempting access, and if available, the remote user.

OVERMAGG
OVERMAGG is an automated script system used to perform OVERset Multi-element Airfoil Grid Generation. It is a collection of FORTRAN programs and C-shell scripts. It is capable of generating overset grids for an airfoil, which may or may not include a leading-edge slat, and/or multiple-slotted flaps. Given the surface definition of the airfoil elements, the script-system will: generate surface grids, generate volume grids, generate box grids which surround the airfoil and extend to the farfield, run software to perform hole-cutting and generate interpolation stencils for updating overset boundaries, and generate boundary condition and flow-solver inputs for either the INS2D or OVERFLOW code.

OVERMAGG requires the Chimera Grid Tools software, and either the PEGSUS 4.1 or the PEGASUS 5.1 software.

Pegasus 5
PEGASUS 5 is the latest version of the PEGASUS series of mesh interpolation codes. The main purpose for the development of this latest version was to significantly decrease the number of user inputs required and to allow for easier operation of the code. The result is a process which is automatic for many flow analysis problems. All that is required from the user is the OVERFLOW input file and the volume grids. Other cases will require some additional input from the user.

Plot 3D
PLOT3D is a computer graphics program designed to visualize the grid and solutions of structured CFD datasets.

PLOT3D 4.1 is a port of PLOT3D version 3.6 to use the OpenGL/GLUT graphics library. In addition, several new features have been added to the code. Compiling the PLOT3D 4.1 code requires that you have the OpenGL Utility Toolkit (GLUT) package installed on your system. GLUT is not in the public domain and is under a copyright. But, the the source code for GLUT is freely available on the web without any licensing fees. GLUT can be downloaded from the OPENGL websitefor developers and end users.
