This briefing included results from computational fluid dynamics (CFD) computations of the Space Shuttle Launch Vehicle during ascent, the Debris Transport code development, the Cart3D six-degree-of-freedom debris aerodynamics modeling, and the shuttle flow-liner crack analysis done for the NASA Engineering Safety Center. The material was well received, with many positive comments from Shuttle Managers. In particular, Shuttle Program manager Bill Parsons expressed his appreciation for NASA's work, recognizing these results as being critical to returning the Shuttle to flight. Parsons asked that the briefing, which highlighted work of NASA researchers Stuart Rogers, Michael Aftosmis, Scott Murman (also of Eloret), William Chan, and Cetin Kiris, be presented to a Flight Readiness Review board.
