Brooks presentation, "Revolutionizing Science and Engineering Applications with Columbia," will be broadcast live at 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time. As chief of the NAS facility at Ames Research Center, Brooks has witnessed the transformation of high performance computing from essentially an exclusive high-end industry to one that provides real-world availability options for many types of research. He will discuss past and present capabilities and will present examples of several high-end modeling and simulation applications, including hurricane track prediction, space weather and radiation storms, type Ia supernova detonation, large-scale structure of the universe, debris transport analysis, and a rapid aerothermal analysis demonstration. + More about the HPC Expo Conference.
