Using Our Systems

The NAS Systems Division manages a variety of high-speed computing resources for its customers, including parallel vector and scalable parallel machines. Outside researchers working with NASA scientists have the opportunity to submit proposals for access to the computing resources here at NAS. Proposals are evaluated based on their scientific merit and their suitability to run on the resources requested.

The NASA programs below approve and fund user allocations on these resources.

CoSMO
The Consolidated Supercomputing Management Office (CoSMO) meets NASA's supercomputing requirements while realizing an overall cost savings through effective and efficient management of the agency's supercomputing resources. Production computing services include high-speed processors, mass storage systems, and network interfaces. Secure supercomputing services are also provided to scientists and engineers working in NASA's Aerospace Technology Enterprise.

Computing, Information, and Communication Technologies (CICT)
The CICT Program enables NASA's scientific research, space exploration, and aerospace
technology missions with greater mission assurance, for less cost, and with increased science return through the development and use of advanced computing, information and communications technologies
