Front wing aspect ratio

The aspect ratio is defined as the ratio of length to width. The length is the span and the width is the chord. The span is measured tip to tip and the chord is defined as the leading edge to the trailing edge. The higher the aspect ratio, the more efficient the wing. Note the difference in the two examples below.

more effeicient is the high aspect ratio compared to a low aspect ratio.
